Greg Fidelmannel, a 2008-as Death Magnetic hangmérnökével tavaly év vége óta stúdiózik a Metallica, az új nagylemez pedig még idén megjelenhet. Előtte azonban minimum három kiadvány is napvilágot lát a bandától. Elsőnek rögtön két cucc, ugyanis április 15-én új, remaszterizált kiadást kap a Metallica első két nagylemeze, az eredetileg 1983-ban kiadott Kill ‘Em All és az 1984-es Ride The Lightning. Mindkettőből lesz CD, LP és Deluxe Box Set verzió is. A harmadik anyag egy koncert-minialbum lesz az április 16-ai Lemezboltok Napja alkalmára (amelynek idén a Metallica az egyik nagykövete), és a Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité, Metallica! – Live At Le Bataclan. Paris, France – June 11th, 2003 címet viseli. Utóbbi kilenc dalt tartalmaz, amelyek között az egyetlen Franticet leszámítva nem szerepel 1988 utáni, és a Fade To Blacket tették közzé róla. A Kill ‘Em All számozott Deluxe Box Set verziója 4 LP-t, 5 CD-t, egy DVD-t, a könyvet és egy felvarrót is tartalmaz majd, a Ride The Lightning Box Set pedig 4 LP-ből, 6 CD-ből, 1 DVD-ből, a könyvből, egy dalszöveges minikönyvből (James Hetfield kézírásával), és három poszterből áll majd. Mindkét Box Set limitált példányszámban kerül kiadásra. Metallica fanok tehát kezdhetnek spórolni!
